Ayahuasca is an historic medicinal plant brew with origins in the Amazon, namely Peru. The thick brown tea is made using Caapi, a vine that only grows within the rainforest, and plant leaves that contain hallucinogenic properties.

An Ayahuasca rite entails consuming the hallucinatory plant/vine tea mixture beneath the steering of a respected Shaman, for a protracted night time spent in deep connection to a higher intelligence and an understanding of one's genuine self. an average Ayahuasca rite is a full night—the journey can last as long as 5 hours. Ayahuasca is indigenous to the Amazon and is felony there, wherein retreats and ceremonies are held and authorized, but no longer inside the U.S., wherein the scene is still in large part underground and secretive.
